The Small Afterward. - Part Three

And Abhimanyu, is an altogether different story.
It was Karthik, unlike the other four, who brought him to us. And he was brought to us, to rehabilitate. From drugs, drinks and smoking.

"He will be with us, for the rest of our time together here. Needs support." This is how Karthik introduced him to us. Varsha and I were curious about it. And a bit apprehensive. But to my and Karthik's amazement, [Donno wat Varsha felt. She never wore her feelings on her sleeves.] Shyama went over and started to talk to him. Within no time, Abhimanyu felt at home and started mingling with us. Well. Abhimanyu recovered from his addictions. And needless to say, Shyama and Abhimanyu became really close. Only with Abhimanyu's development, did I finally find any change in Karthik's attitude towards Shyama. Karthik once said it's Shyama who brought him back."I cant deny him that credit."

So, that is how we met. We became "kewl" friends. Met every day, under the greenwood tree.. And discussed the whole day's events, one by one. These discussions usually lead over to things like Bhagavathgeetha, Tatler, palmtops, and what not!! Till 6, we talked. And then I usually went over with Varsha for a change and later, to the court for basket ball practice. If the romeo had no other work, he would be there to cheer me up during the practices. I admit, I enjoyed the practices more then.
Karthik usually went over for his football practice. And Varsha, she would idle[I guess.] her time in the hostel room. Abhimanyu would be in the library, searching for books to read. He says he finds great solace in books. And thanks to Shyama for showing him that vast ocean of knowledge. :)
